The making of the model involved a range of various processes. One of the ones I used the most was vacuum forming. It was by this process that most of the parts where created.

A while ago, LG Electronics has started to launch multimedia handsets especially designed for music lovers on the mobile phone market. The fact didn't go unnoticed by more experienced mobile phones manufacturers (Nokia, Sony Ericsson), which are delivering the best music phones. Even if LG knows that the leader position on this market is almost impossible to attain, yet it has started to improve its handsets in terms of multimedia features, by providing them with more functions than before. The first device to mark an important leap forward for LG is the latest KM380 FLIP, which is among the first LG mobile phones to include a separate sound chip.Announced in February 2008, the mid-end slider has been launched on the market in March 2008

Impressions

On the outside, KM380 may look just like another LG FLIP, but on the inside it's totally different. The updated firmware corrects some well-known bugs and confers greater functionality to the device. If you don't mind the 79-gram weight and you're looking for a cheap music phone, KM380 may be a good choice; at least for a while.

Battery

LG KM380 features an 800 mAh Li-Ion battery, which depletes at an average level, depending on your needs. The official numbers stated by LG - 250 hours of standby mode and 3 hours of talking - are again attainable, which is an improvement compared with other LG's handsets. Usually, I got about 2 days of use, with about 45 minutes of talking everyday. It might last longer, around 3-4 days, if you only use it for 1-2 short calls per day.

Looking to major semiconductor manufacturers, like Intel, AMD, Samsung and NVIDIA, you will notice that they generally do not enter a new market lightly. Furthermore, they almost never part of the resources of a new effort of market penetration. Time is certainly crucial but usually does not pay to tread lightly when it's time to execute. It 'just a matter of making the business case analysis, justifying ROI and then placing bets. Go Big or go home. It's all-in or sit on the sidelines and watch. And you know, when Intel decides they want, the stack of chips that are playing with is not the kind you find at cheap tables.

In this perspective, we consider the future of solid-state disk market and where it is going. We have said before, the day the rotation of the media are numbered. If SSDs unit and spinning are likely to coexist for some time, traditional hard disk technology eventually go the way of the dinosaur. SSDs have no moving parts to wear, which consume much less power, produce very little heat and their performance will continue to improve over time, with the type of scale is accompanied by an evolution of semiconductor yield curve. If the migration will be gradual, starting first at consumer level, and then moving into the industrial and space, is a matter of time before the world is literally solid state for its preservation. In the short term, especially at consumer level, SSD market should have explosive growth over the next year or more, some analysts predict far beyond the 100% every year.

Tired of your old laptop? Well, I can not buy a new and the problem is that this is only a concept and can not buy it, but this is not the point. I'm fascinated by the concepts because it is good to know that someone is going to design something that you like to have in the future.

This notebook is called SmartBook and actually, is more than a laptop as the designer, Roland Cernat, the mobility device called a computer with a multi-functional design as it allows you to rearrange their parts however you want in order to fit his style.

The pricing on the SL400 starts at around $799. As configured, the price of our review unit of the ThinkPad SL400 is $1,119. While that puts it above the range of most "budget" laptops, this configuration does offer a new Intel "Montevina" processor, and dedicated graphics card at a reasonable price. Bentley branded Notebook

First it was Lamborghini and their notebook collaboration with ASUS and now Ego for Bentley is following with a Bentley-branded notebook. We only have 5 letters as comment: sucks! Expect the unholy to be unveiled at the British Motor Show.

Each is hand built, with authentic Bentley cross-over hand-stitching. And the colour schemes match those of the famous luxury cars. The inside metal reflects the paint job on the outside, while the outer leather is taken right from the seats.

The metal carry handle is even modeled on the motor's door handled, and is satisfyingly chunky.

Under the bonnet you've got Microsoft Vista, a 64 bit processor, and a 160GB hard drive. There are also 12 direct access keys for quickly getting to the point.

Nike “Air McFlys” released!!!

The only thing that went untouched were the “Air McFlys,” the Nike [NKE 56.95 -1.37 (-2.35%) ]shoes that Michael J. Fox wore in “Back to the Future II.” Fans of the movie have demanded to have Nike make that shoe over the years and I’ve had to shoot down rumor after rumor that Nike was actually going to make this thing.

Well, almost 20 years after the movie hit the screen, Nike will be releasing their new Hyperdunk in a teal version to make it look like the “Air McFlys.” Shoe collector shop Undefeated in Santa Monica will get first dibs as they’ll sell less than 100 pairs today. Over the next couple weeks, stores will get these in extremely limited supply. We’re told less than 1,000 pairs will be made and about half those will be released in the U.S. It’s a great step for Nike to actually make this something that looks like this shoe since it’s probably the most famous fake Nike shoe, not unless you believe that it’s recently been topped by the Air Force 1’s worn by Turtle in “Entourage.”

But the guys that run the McFly 2015 Project, a grassroots movement that has been trying to drum up support for Nike to make this shoe aren’t satisfied.

“The Nike Hyperdunks might be inspired by the McFly 2015’s, but the Nike Hyperdunks are not the McFly 2015’s” said Michael Maloof, who with his brother Charles launched a Web site last year in order to push for the futuristic sneakers. “We strongly encourage each and everyone who wants the ‘real’ McFly 2015’s to sign up on the official McFly 2015 project Web site.”

We might have to wait for the authentic ones that might tie themselves like the ones in the film, but it’s interesting that Nike actually would have the capacity to make the real thing, considering they did take the steps to patent the shoe they made for the movie.

By looking at records from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, it looks like Nike could have been considering making a version of the Air McFlys as far back as 18 years ago. According to records from the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the patent for the shoe was filed in April 1990--roughly five months after the movie debuted--by Nike’s head shoe guru Tinker Hatfield.

Nike is not using “Back to the Future” or the word “McFly” in its release of the current shoe. Sources tell me that the shoe and apparel company is trying to figure out how just how much NBC Universal, which owns the rights to the film and is the parent of CNBC, wants to associate with this product.

We all remember the awesome pair of Nike shoes Marty Mcfly wore in Back To The Future II. They had a self locking lace system, they lit up, and they were just gangster. There was even an online petition for them to be retro’d that got a hell of a lot of signatures.

The first edition of Air McFlys consisted of just 350 pairs of shoes. 14 of those pairs are currently for sale on eBay, with a starting price of $400 (expect to pay at least a grand for a pair signed by Kobe).

The shoe is a variant on the Hyperdunk, but skinned to match the colors of the pair seen in the film. The Hyperdunk, according to a Nike press release, was designed specifically for use by athletes in the Beijing Olympics.

The difference between our two models concerns the storage capacity: the HDC-HS9 offers 60GB of HDD, while the HDC-SD9 use SD Card.

Openmoko - Linux based phone

Openmoko has begun shipping its Linux-based, open source Neo Freerunner phone to five newly announced distributors, in Germany, France, and India, says the company. The Neo Freerunner features an open hardware design, and a Linux-based operating system that users are free to modify.

Previously, OpenMoko phones have been available only in limited quantities, mostly to open source mobile phone software developers. Today's announcement signals the first release of OpenMoko's technology aimed at the mass market.
The OpenMoko project originally hoped to ship a mass market version last October, according to project leader Sean Moss-Pultz in an interview about a year ago. However, finishing the product has proven proven more difficult than originally thought, in part due to hardware problems .

The Neo Freerunner (GTA02) is an updated version of Openmoko's earlier Neo 1973. As with the Neo 1973, which shipped last Fall, the Freerunner is billed as a completely open, hackable hardware platform, meaning that users are free to install and run new operating system firmware, for example in order to add native Linux software applications of their own choosing.

When it announced the Neo Freerunner in January, Openmoko also reported that it had completed its spin-out from Taiwanese consumer electronics giant FIC (First International Computer of Taiwan), which is manufacturing the phone. Compared to the similar-looking Neo 1973, the Freerunner adds WiFi, 3D accelerometers, improved graphics, and a faster 500MHz Samsung S3C2442 system-on-chip (SoC) processor. Other features include:

As with the 1973 model, OpenMoko has published CAD files for the Freerunner. That "open source hardware" approach resulted in the design being adapted for use in Dash Navigation's Dash Express in-car navigation device. OpenMoko phones have proven to be popular development platforms for projects such as the Debian-based We-phone.

Stated Steve Mosher, Openmoko VP of marketing, "We have moved beyond the early adopter stage and are now ready to release the next generation Neo Freerunner to markets where we are seeing early traction." Mosher added that the distributors could provide "software and exterior customization" for the phone.

Availability

The Openmoko Neo Freerunner will have a suggested retail price of $400. In addition to being offered by the new European and Indian distributors, it will continue to be sold direct, online. The company will announce more details at LinuxWorld Expo in San Francisco, on August 5-7, it said. Openmoko will be located at booth 1234 in the Moscone Center North Hall.
